This fern originated in Australia and is relatively easy to cultivate indoors worldwide.

• The Kimberley queen has graceful, drooping fronds. It is more tolerant of dry air than some other ferns, and thus does not drop as many leaves. Nevertheless, a regular schedule of misting and watering is necessary.
• Apply diluted fertilizer as long as it is producing new fronds.
• Removed discoloured and old fronds
• Keep the soil moist, but not wet. Never allow root ball to dry completely.
• Misting is necessary in dry atmosphere.
• Pest and problems like scale insects, spider mites and aphids may come. However they are very rare.

Repotting and propogation

• When the roots of the Nephrolepis obliterata have its current pot, repot in the spring, moving the plant into a pot only one size larger. After maximum convenient pot size has been reached, remove the plant from its pot every spring, carefully trim away some of the outer roots and replace the plant in the same pot, which has been thoroughly cleaned.
• Propagation is by plant division. Carefully pull the root ball in half or in quarters. Plant the sections in small pots to prevent over-watering.

Where to plant it?

It thrives in bright light but the place shoul reeive some afternoon shade. This way we can position it under trees or porches. Medium lit rooms are good , if your bathrooms are well lit naturally then this humidity loving plant has its ideal spot there.
